Congratulations, you have just found the best source of Great Lakes Trolling rods money can buy. Eyefull Custom Rods specializes in Great Lakes Trolling rods. We fish Saginaw Bay for Walleye and Lake Michigan for Salmon and Trout passionately, so we know what qualities are important to you. When people see me on the water, they know that I am running rods that will be my next generation of the best trolling rods period.
While I can certainly build standard type trolling rods, almost all of my custom rods are built with a spiral guide wrap. A spiral guide wrap is what sets my rods apart from other trolling rods. A spiral guide wrap is the method of allowing the line to transfer to the bottom of the blank, much like a traditional spinning rod. We accomplish this by using the lines natural willingness and two transition guides to help the process move smoothly to the bottom of the blank.
The benefits are really amazing and you almost have to fish one to believe the difference. First of all there will be a complete elimination of reel torque. Reel Torque is felt as the reel and rod are trying to rotate from the force of the line pulling downward to one side or the other of the blank. Eliminating the torque on the guides and the blank makes it possible to use smaller, lighter guides and blank materials. The natural spine of the blank is now used, very similar to a spinning rod. A lighter, smaller diameter blank can now do the work of a heavier setup much more efficiently.
At Eyefull Custom Rods, we also build spinning, casting, and offshore rods. We are also seeing more and more flyrod activity every day. Whatever fish you are after, you can bet Eyefull Custom Rods has a rod for you. A lifetime service guarantee is also free with any rod from our shop.
